Guess What?

The theme for Round Robin Challenge this week is "Guess What?" This picture was a very easy one to guess... I hoped to look for more interesting subjects that would make it difficult to guess, but this critter seemed to be a willing model, so I guess he would be my star for the week. :)

I was about to take out my plates and wash it when I saw this in the sink. I think the insecticide we sprayed worked on this fella that it was just still in the sink, and if it moved, it moved in a swirly manner, like a drunk person. I placed my plate in the counter and took my camera and started taking pictures. I needed to turn on the flash for this, because if I don't it won't look realistic due to low lighting. The red focus light tend to disturb the critter, but I guess the flash somehow blinded him a bit, and the next few shots turned out much better.

Of course, after I was satisfied with the images, I got a cup of water, poured it to the critter and drained him in the sink. :)

Food Preparation

It is my first time to join the Round Robin meme, and for this week's theme of "Food Preparation," here is my share:




Last year, brother and I went to dad's hometown in Bacnotan, La Union to take part of "palagip," a prayer ceremony wherein the family prayed for all the departed loved ones. Our dad was one of those whom we offered the prayers to, and a day after the actual prayer ceremony, we prepared lunch for the prayer warriors.

One of the dishes cooked was the pancit (a noodle dish), and my aunt always add slices of spring onions or leeks to her pancit, and she asked brother to prepare some of the ingredients needed. I just came in the kitchen after taking pictures outside the house, so I also took pictures of brother while cutting up the spring onions.
