Shutter Love Tuesdays | Trees

Colinas Verdes

This week's prompt is "Trees," and I just can't help but go through files from not-so-distant past. This picture was something I took while jogging with sister at Colinas Verdes. At times, I would take my cell phone or my camera with me, and I'd stop and take pictures as my way of catching my breath. I took this on our way out, and because I was stopping too much, my sister decided to sit and wait for me. She's that person sitting at a distance. :)

I ran a lomo script in processing this picture. It looks unreal, but I did like it. :)

Shutter Love Tuesdays | Crazy Faces

Crazy Faces was a tough prompt for me because I don't dare making funny faces on camera (oh, I think I did it once in January). I always think I don't look good enough to pull off a funny face look, so I always just smile whenever my pictures are taken.

My brother was out, my sister's asleep... and I wanted to write this post asap, so I just checked my files and saw this:

Zombie Cupcake

It may not be a real person, but it's definitely crazy looking. :)

For sure you know that this cupcake is patterned after the zombie in the video game "Plants vs. Zombies." It's one of those games that I really got addicted playing, and now, people aren't just playing it, they are now eating it, too!

This picture was taken during the Yummy Eats event last Saturday at the NBC Tent. The one who did this was the Little Miss OC Kitchen, and aside from the PVZ themed cupcakes, they also presented "Angry Birds" cupcakes, another addicting video game. The cupcakes are quite pricey at p125 (around usd2.88) each, but checking the details of each cupcakes, I'd say it's worth it. Well, I got to sample their mini cakes and yes, 125 is worth it because it was heavenly!

Edit Edit...

Okay, I decided to share the crazy faces pictures I took last January. :)

Hahahahaha!

Shutter Love Tuesdays | Circles

Birthday Sunset

It's all about circles this week, and although my image is only the singular form of the prompt, I still chose to share this because I took this one last Friday - the day I celebrated my birthday. I am not a person who loves celebrating birthday, but when my sister said she will travel to San Pedro, Laguna t0 visit a church in Landayan, I asked if I can come with her, too, because I would love to spend my birthday inside a church - so I could also personally thank the Lord for allowing me to celebrate my 31st year of existence.

Sister and I only visited this particular church (with one food trip on the side), but because the church was way far from where we live, it was already dusk when we got off the bus outside the neighborhood. While walking, I saw the sun about to set, and I knew I just had to take a picture of it. It may not be a stellar picture, but I also believe sunset is one of God's way of communicating with me (or us, in general), and seeing this sunset was my icing on the cake for this day.

SLT - Self Portrait

I take pictures of myself once a week because I am doing the "52 Weeks of Me Project," but lately I haven't had the urge to take pictures of myself, so my post for this week was something from my files.

A Self Portrait

ShutterLoveTuesdays

This self portrait was part of the "Brown" set I did for my personal project. I took this picture with my left hand holding the camera, and my right hand holding the necklace. I edited this picture just now, but my take for the "brown" prompt was to wear a brownish top, and brownish jewelry - my mom's locket and matching ring, and a necklace made from plastic and metal beads.

I have been reading a whole lot about the "I am Beautiful" project, and I told myself I'd join in, too, but I still haven't taken my picture. Hopefully I can set up the camera and take some self portraits before the week ends.

SLT - Hands

This is my first time to join Shutter Love Tuesdays. This week, the prompt is "Hands," and this is my take:

Stone Picker

Stones

I first featured a picture of this man when for the Scavenger Hunt Sunday meme using the prompt "Life." I did take several pictures of the man (these are different pictures from the one I used before), and when I learned that this week's prompt is "hands," he was the first thing that came to mind.

The man is already in his 70s, but retirement is something he is not considering because he said the people of this town was gifted by so many stones, and just by picking up specific kind of stones allowed him to earn some money. For him, he would rather spend the day collecting stones from the sea shore, than gather dust at home.

His hands is his medium to live, and I know he feels blessed for having having hands that allows him to still earn beyond retirement age.
