Even before we could appreciate the beauty of the butterfly, we all know it was a caterpillar first. Different kinds of butterflies, different kinds of caterpillars. I am not sure how this caterpillar would turn out to be, but one thing's for sure - I wouldn't touch this one because I would be itchy all over if I do. Caterpillar of this kind have hairs that would enter the pores and would irritate the skin. Here in the Philippines, first aid was to apply vinegar in the part touched a caterpillar.
Like the butterfly I posted last week for letter "B," this one was also taken in the Butterfly Sanctuary of Baluarte in Vigan, Ilocos Sur.

yeah better not touch that butterfly it looks could kill... great up close shot.
It probably would be that great for the butterfly, if you touched it, either. great shot.
On behalf of the AN=BC Wednesday team, thank you!
Marvelous capture, Jenn! Definitely better with hands off! Hope the rest of your week goes well!

what a cool caterpillar, great shot!
It is beautiful, but it reminds me of the Cutworms that eat my favorite things in the garden.
It has a bit of the cactus about it!
First the caterpillar and then the butterfly! What a great picture. And what a wonderful post. Just like always. You do such a great job!
Terrific capture. I watched a documentary last week about the Monarch Butterfly. Photography makes everything real!
That's a beautiful caterpillar! We have hairy ones here, too, that make you itch if you touch them. We call them 'woolly bears'!
Love the big hole, where he's eaten his lunch!
