Sa May Bintana

Theme for this week on the Urban subsection of Weekday Photos is "Windows," and here is my share:

Taken July last year on my last visit to Vigan City, it was my first time to travel there alone and because it rained in the afternoon, I just took the time to sit in one of the benches along the Crisologo Street. It was my favorite past time every time I go there, and as I looked up on the rustic buildings along the street, I saw these two kids taking a peek by the window. For a while I was jealous of them... seeing the Crisologo Street from the top is something I really missed.

C - Cosmos

I was hoping to share a picture of catleya (the orchid) for this week, but to my surprise it wasn't in my file anymore, and I just reformatted my camera's memory card, so I thought I was going to miss this week, until I saw one of my framed cross stitched artwork in the house entitled, "Girl with Cosmos." I immediately checked Flickr for images of cosmos, and realizing that I have had pictures of that flower in my old files, I quickly browsed the images in my folders and saw this:

Cosmos

...a picture of an orange cosmos taken last March, when I went for a short vacation in my paternal hometown. I took this picture at the garden of Our Lady of Lourdes grotto in Balaoan, La Union, while doing a side trip there. It was my third time to visit the place, and I knew there were yellow cosmos in the garden, too, but the orange ones were the only available, so I just took pictures of it.

They said taking care of this plant was very easy... I sure hope to have this plant in our garden to make our garden a bit livelier.

Fruit Platter

Fruit Platter

Last April, I used the gift certificate for an overnight stay at One Tagaytay Place. The stay included free breakfast, and since the breakfast already had coffee, I decided to ask for a fruit platter instead of having orange juice. Eating traditional Filipino breakfast (fried rice, cold cuts, and sunny side up eggs) that day, these fruits serve as my dessert. Tagaytay is one of the places known for its pineapples, and these were just so sweet! The watermelon and the cantaloupe were sweet, too, but because pineapple is my top favorite fruit, I was actually hoping there could me more of it. :)

Yellow Flowers

New month now, yey! I have been thinking what to post for Today's Flowers, and I realized that I still haven't shared the flower pictures I took from my Feb/Mar vacation in La Union... so here goes:

Yellow

Today's Flowers

During my last vacation in dad's hometown, I tried to re-visit some of the places I've been to in 2008 because I had a new travel blog, and sadly I wasn't able to gather all the 2008 files, so I just decided to revisit all the places so I can write new articles.

After visiting two churches in two towns, I went to call it a day, but tired as I was, I still walked from the jeepney terminal to our house. In one of the houses, I saw this flower, and with the dusk coming, I liked the tint it gave to the yellow flowers, so I took out my camera to take some pictures. Walking gives me rewards, seeing flowers is just one of those.

ps - I don't know the name of the flower, so if you know, please tell me. Thanks!

On the Spotlight

New month, new theme for me... this month I decided to post pictures of fly for this month.

203/365 c2 - Adult Fly

I was in the garden hoping to take pictures of flowers, when I saw this adult fly. The only plant in our garden that had flowers wasn't ready yet, so I was really thankful to this fly that I had a subject to take pictures of. It was actually nearing night time, and with the threats of rain pouring, it was really, really dark. I turned on the flash of my camera when I shot this to give off some lighting, because my camera cannot really handle low light environments.
