Kayaking in Bulog

Another picture from the trip Coron, Palawan. Waking up in this very beautiful place made me and my friends stay a bit longer. After breakfast, we were supposed to be heading to our island hop, yet we decided to do "quality over quantity." My friends Lei and Dianne saw a kayak and borrowed it so we could go to the nearby small island. Only three people can fit in the kayak, so with Ryan as the "driver," Lei took Kei first and Ryan just went back to get me.

With the unstable weather, it was so great that we were able to enjoy a great vacation.

Makapal (Thick)

{I had quite a difficult time looking for something "thick" that I could share for this week in Litratong Pinoy, and as I searched through my files, I saw this image. Taken two years ago when I was invited to a little get together a night before the last week of the Bar Exams. So many lessons to review, and although these books weren't that thick, everything that was written in these books were really important for them to know.}

{Yesterday, there was a big revelation when a food blogger was finally "caught" with copied articles from different blogs. Cyber Crimes is becoming rampant these day, I do hope that in the future, there will be laws to protect people.}

ps - "Chef's" food blog no longer exist (guess he was overwhelmed with the comments from the rightful owners of the articles he copied), but his Facebook fan page is still up.

J - Jasmine

Jasmine is the only flower I know that starts with J, and with this letter coming up on ABC Wednesday I was faced with a problem. I do have a picture of jasmine in my file, but all were blurry! I could post that, or skip this week's letter.

Luckily, when I last went to the weekend market in Lung Center of the Philippines, I saw one kiosk that sells flowering plants and he had this:

Jasmine

... the Jasmine! I was really happy when I saw this because I don't have to either post the old blurry picture or skip this week's episode. I quickly grabbed pointed my camera on the flower and took pictures.

The Jasmine is very similar to the Philippines' national flower, the Sampaguita, but of course both were different flowers even if they look and smell almost the same.

La Pieta

When I started this photo blog, I used to join a photo meme - Monochrome Mondays - but I stopped posting for it and soon after the meme mellowed. I don't know if they changed blogsites, so even if I wanted to come back, I couldn't anymore. Just a few hours ago, I received an invitation from my friend Halie to join her meme - Monochrome Tuesdays.

Pieta

This image was taken in Manila Cathedral last January when I went for a photowalk with photo pals from Pinoy Republic forum. I arrived quite earlier than them, and was lucky to be able to take pictures inside the cathedral.

According to some texts I have read, this replica of the very famous Michaelangelo sculpture used the same material.

Kitty Approaching

I love taking pictures of my cats, but since our living room doesn't have that much available light due to heavy curtains, I always have to turn on the flash if I wanted to have a clear, good picture of them.

When I saw my cat Oreo lying on my mattress and looked really cute, I took my cell phone to take picture of him, but the red light from the camera disturbed him and he just walked over to check it out. My cell phone's camera will automatically take a picture if I would press the middle button long enough, so even if I am seeing the cat approaching, the camera would take the shot anyway, so I just held on to it 'til the flash fires off. The result was this picture:

Overexposed due to the flash, but still cute if you ask me. Well, that's my cat... he will always be adorable for me.
