The Quirino Bridge is located in the town of Bantay in Ilocos Sur, and is the one connecting two parts of the province. Whenever I go to Vigan City, I always pass by this bridge, and every time, I would always try to capture the bridge. It was quite a difficult thing to do especially if the bus' window was tainted with hard water or there were reflections in the window, but even if at times my captures didn't look good, I always have my camera ready.
This picture was taken May 2008. We were just going home from a road trip in north, and because I was seated next to the window of the van, I tried to keep my balance as let out part of my body in the window to capture the bridge. I was thankful that we didn't run the airconditioning in the van, or else, I won't be able to capture this.
Fast forward to 2010... this bridge is no longer the main bridge in the area, the last time I traveled there was March of this year, and there was already a new bridge. It saddened me that this bridge is already closed, but then again, since the bridge was still there, I could always have a much better picture of it should I travel to Vigan again.
